Sprinting toward another American revolution

Oh people, look around you;
The signs are everywhere.
You’ve left it for somebody other than you
To be the one to care.
You’re lost inside your houses;
There’s no time to find you now.
Your walls are burning and your towers are turning;
I’m going to leave you here and try to get down to the sea somehow….

Those are the opening lyrics of the oldie “Rock Me on the Water.” Written by Jackson Browne in the early 1970s, those words seem especially appropriate for today.

Today we learned that the highest number of U.S. troops — 31 of them — that have died in one day in Afghanistan in the past decade have died after “insurgents” shot down their helicopter. (If we were defending our own home territory from foreign military occupation, we would be “freedom fighters” or the like, but anyone who resists American military occupation is an “insurgent” or a “terrorist” or the like.)

Of course, we Americans only care about American deaths. We don’t care about the many, many, many more “insurgents” and “terrorists” whom our own stormtroopers — er, troops — have slaughtered in the Middle East over the past decade, since the “other” is not fully human. (Yes, you have to dehumanize a human being first before you can not give a flying fucking shit about his or her slaughter. That’s how evil works.)

President Hopey-Changey Obama — who had promised to get us out of Afghanistan — issued the exact same kind of response to the needless death of 31 American troops in Afghanistan that George W. Bush would have. Reports The Associated Press:

President Barack Obama mourned the deaths of the American troops, saying in a statement that the crash serves as a reminder of the “extraordinary sacrifices” being made by the U.S. military and its families. He said he also mourned “the Afghans who died alongside our troops.”

Really? If he truly cared that much, then why the fuck hasn’t he honored his campaign promise to get us the fuck out of Afghanistan?

His response, though, is yet another example of why I say that our nation is ruled by the Coke Party and the Pepsi Party — that the significant difference between the two is difficult to distinguish.

See, it’s not about the fact that our “leaders” are corrupt and inept, that they still have us mired in Afghanistan, the graveyard of empires, where billions and billions of our tax dollars are being funneled to war profiteers while here at home, our credit rating just got downgraded for the first time in our nation’s history.

We sure the fuck could use our own fucking money here at home right about now, but the traitors who comprise the military-industrial complex would rather to continue to steal our nation’s wealth — our wealth — via their bogus “defense” operations. Their personal financial situations are just fine — as is President Hopey-Changey’s personal financial situation, and the personal financial situations of the members of Congress who absofuckinglutely refuse to do what’s best for the highest number of Americans (which can only be defined as treason) —  so fuck the rest of the millions and millions of the rest of us Americans.

But no, see, it’s all about the “extraordinary sacrifices” made by our troops.

How about our fucking so-called leaders make some extraordinary sacrifices? No, they would rather leave the extraordinary sacrifices to our young men and women who are too naive about the ways of the world to know that the last just war that the U.S. military fought was World War II, for fuck’s sake, and that as members of the U.S. military they are not protecting “freedom” and “liberty” and “democracy” and puppies and kittens or doing anything nearly as noble as all that, but that they are only cannon fodder for the treasonous, uber-greedy war profiteers and the corporateers who want to loot the U.S. treasury via “defense” spending and want to steal other nations’ natural resources and profit obscenely from them, which is made possible only after U.S. military invasions and occupations.

And those young men and women in the U.S. military who do know that war is a racket find themselves at a loss for any other employment than with the U.S. military. They are fairly socioeconomically trapped where they are.

But if you criticize the plutocrats’ wars, then you are accused of attacking our troops — even though it’s the plutocrats who treasonously are sending our troops off to die and to be maimed in wars that benefit only the plutocrats. (If our wars in the Middle East of the past decade were meant to benefit all Americans, then why, oh why, are most Americans in dire economic straits? That’s because the spoils of war never trickle down. Only piss trickles down.)

No, I am not attacking our troops, who are just pawns, who also are victims of the treasonous plutocrats, victims just like the thousands and thousands of innocent civilians whom they slaughter in the Middle East. I am attacking the treasonous plutocrats who are destroying our nation whose heads belong on pikes.

And yes, President Hopey-Changey is among the treasonous plutocrats. He promised us that he would use the power of the office of the president of the United States of America to raise all boats, but all that he is done is to help the plutocrats buy bigger and bigger yachts.

As George W. Bush once put it, you are for us or you are against us. You are for us working-class, middle-class and poor Americans, or you are for the plutocrats — and against us.

Oh, we are long overdue for a violent revolution here at home.

A nonviolent revolution will not cut it. Violence is the only language that the plutocratic traitors who are driving our nation into the ground understand.

A violent American revolution is coming, regardless of what you or I have to say about.

Even more on the shoes

I came across this little animation of George W. Bush as “The Matrix’s” hero Neo dodging shoes instead of bullets. Funny.

And I was amused to read that “A Saudi reportedly offered $10 million for just one of the shoes” that were tossed at “President” Bush last weekend. Unfortunately, The Associated Press reports that reportedly the shoes were destroyed when investigators were trying to determine whether they complained explosives.

Dumb asses. Obviously the shoes were just shoes thrown by an Iraqi citizen with quite justified anger, and I agree with the Iranian cleric who, the AP reports, asserted that the shoes should have been put in a museum. (Not that museums in the Middle East are safe from the aftermath of illegal, immoral, unjust and unprovoked American invasions…)

Worst. ‘President.’ Ever.

President George W. Bush listens to his introduction as he prepares ...

Reuters photo

Speaking at the U.S. Army War College in Pennsylvania today, “President” Bush bragged that there hasn’t been another 9/11 since 9/11 — he wants kudos for doing his job — and today he also claimed to Fox “News,” “I didn’t compromise my soul to be a popular guy.” No, he sold his soul to Dick Cheney’s war-profiteering Halliburton instead of to popularity.

Apparently “President” Bush doesn’t want our last memory of him to be that of him ducking a pair of shoes thrown at him by an enraged Iraqi — you know, one of the people we “liberated.” (We “liberated” tens of thousands of them quite permanently)

So now Bush is reminding us that we have him to thank for the fact that we haven’t had a 9/11-level terrorist attack since Sept. 11, 2001.

Wow.

That’s like expecting a fucking Brownie button for the fact that yes, you killed an entire family while drunken driving, but that you haven’t killed anyone else since.

The worst terrorist attack on mainland American soil happened on Sept. 11, 2001, on Bush’s watch — less than a month and a week after he had received a presidential daily briefing titled “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.”

Who knew?

Bush knew.

Bush didn’t care.

Just like he knew that Hurricane Katrina was determined to strike in the U.S. in August 2005 but he didn’t care about that, either.

In the last days of his disastrous hostile occupation of the White House, Bush can try to rewrite history all he wants; history will record him as W: The. Worst. “President.” Ever.

Associated Press, AFP and Reuters photos

People throughout the Arab world deem Iraqi television journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi, pictured above, as a hero, and have demonstrated against the United States’ continued illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq after al-Zaidi threw his shoes at Emperor Bush on Sunday.

Muntazer al-Zaidi — the under-30 Iraqi television journalist who threw both of his shoes at U.S. “President” Bush on Sunday, embarrassing the American dictator despite the dictator’s denials of embarrassment — is a hero among those Iraqis who haven’t sold their nation out to the corporate interests of the crumbling empire of the United States of America.

As he should be.

He’s my hero, too, because while my fellow Americans have been too pussy to remove and bring to justice our eight-year dictator who first stole a presidential election, then allowed the terrorist attacks of 9/11 to happen, and then started a bogus war against a nation that had had nothing whatsofuckingever to do with 9/11, al-Zaidi stood up and did what he could do when he found himself in the presence of Satan incarnate: he threw his shoes at the devil.

As I noted long ago, “President” Bush — whom I never considered to be my president, but whom I consider to be the treasonous and mass-murdering usurper that he is, and who deserves the ultimate punishment for mass murder and treason —  is “the most protected man in the world and the man who is the least worth protecting in the world.”

So for the historically well-protected Bush to have to duck a pair of airborne shoes at a press conference — that was priceless.

Bush tried to save face, first literally by ducking the flying footwear, and then figuratively by trying to dismiss the Iraqi journalist’s strong statement. The journalist was venting his rage at the death in and the destruction of his nation that Bush’s regime wrought for the war profits of the likes of Dick Cheney’s war-profiteering Halliburton — I can only imagine the righteous rage that the young man felt when he found himself in the same room with the Colonizer in Chief — and Bush attempted to minimize the man’s strong statement by comparing it to giving someone the middle finger, and Bush even tried to use the man’s defiant act as “evidence” that Iraqis are now “free.”

So much for “free speech” — al-Zaidi is in the custody of Iraq’s puppet government and faces criminal charges. Since he didn’t actually physically harm Bush, al-Zaidi’s “crime” can only be that he embarrassed those who form Iraq’s American-ass-licking puppet government by not having been deferential to the American dictator who had dared to show his face on Iraqi soil.

Not that Iraq’s puppet government won’t let al-Zaidi go; he has done what the puppet government has refused to do, which is to stand up against Iraq’s colonizers from the United States. Iraq’s puppet government will let al-Zaidi go — or face the wrath of the people to whom he is a national hero.

And we Americans, who don’t possess a fraction of the courage that al-Zaidi does, never will bring George W. Bush and his henchpeople to justice for their treason and their crimes against humanity, but we will even finance their retirement.

Iraqi journalist hurls both shoes at ‘President’ Bush; misses, unfortunately

Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki tries to block US President ...

Associated Press, Reuters and AFP video grabs

An Iraqi journalist threw both of his shoes at “President” Bush during a press conference in Iraq today. Bush successfully ducked both shoes. “In Iraqi culture, throwing shoes at someone is a sign of contempt,” The Associated Press notes. The AP also reports that the Iraqi journalist had shouted to Bush in Arabic, “This is a farewell kiss, you dog!”  before he tossed his shoes, adding, “This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq!” (Reuters quotes the journalist as having said in Arabic, “This is a goodbye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog!”) In Islamic culture, dogs are considered to be dirty. I’m a dog lover, so I think of Bush as a swine, which also is considered dirty in Islamic culture, although swine are believed to be pretty smart, so that comparison doesn’t completely fit Bush, either…

So why didn’t something like this (must-see video clip) happen years ago?

Oh, well; better late than never, and anyway, this has made my day.

“President” Bush dared to show his face in Iraq, the nation that his unelected war-mongering and war-profiteering regime raped, pillaged and plundered, causing the deaths of at least tens of thousands of Iraqis. (Oh, did I mention the Abu Ghraib House of Horrors?)

Bush is damned fucking lucky that having had to duck flying shoes is all that happened to him in Iraq.

For his treason (stealing a presidential election and starting a bogus war for the war profits* of Dick Cheney’s Halliburton and the other war-profiteering subsidiaries of BushCheneyCorp certainly qualify as treason in my book) and his crimes against humanity — he is responsible for the wholly unnecessary deaths of more than 4,200 members of the U.S. military in Vietraq as well as the deaths of at least tens of thousands of Iraqis — Bush deserves to be pelted to death with a whole fucking lot of shoes.

They hanged Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein for his mass murder, and in Bush’s home state of Texas, if you kill just one person you are likely to be executed for murder, especially if you aren’t white.

But if you’re a white mass-murdering dictator from Texas, you’re going to get off scot-free.

*The illegal, immoral, unjust and wholly unnecessary Vietraq War has cost American taxpayers more than $575 billion. Meanwhile, our schools and infrastructure continue to crumble, millions have inadequate health care, and our economy continues to tank. The unelected Bush regime has done far more damage to our nation that our enemies, real or fabricated, ever could have done.
