Is Prick Santorum the biggest dipshit on the planet?

National polls showed Santorum surging ahead of longtime frontrunner Romney

AFP photo

“Christo”fascist Prick Santorum, trying to distance himself from his strong insinuation of yesterday that President Barack Obama isn’t a Christian and he is, today essentially stated that he believes that humankind should do as it pleases to planet Earth. (It’s in the Bible, after all!) Another great “save” there, prick!

Repugnican Tea Party presidential wannabe Prick Santorum, embattled because of his strong insinuation of yesterday that President Barack Obama isn’t a Christian, today “clarified” that he believes that Obama is a Christian, but that it’s Obama’s “worldview” that he takes issue with. The Associated Press reports that Santorum said of Obama today:

“I am talking about his worldview, and the way he approaches problems in this country. I think they’re different than how most people do in America.” …

The former Pennsylvania senator said Obama’s environmental policies promote ideas of “radical environmentalists,” who, Santorum argues, oppose greater use of the country’s natural resources because they believe “man is here to serve the Earth.” He said that was the reference he was making [yesterday] in his Ohio campaign appearance when he denounced a “phony theology.”

“I think that is a phony ideal. I don’t believe that is what we’re here to do,” Santorum said. “We’re not here to serve the Earth. The Earth is not the objective. Man is the objective.” …

Um, when did Barack Obama ever state that we are “here to serve the Earth”?

Um, when did even any “radical environmentalist” state that we are “here to serve the Earth”?

Is Prick Santorum talking about the “Christo”fascist idea of what Paganism is? Is he, in code, calling Obama an Earth-serving Pagan? Is he calling “radical environmentalists” and Obama supporters Pagans? (Not that there is anything wrong with being a Pagan — the majority of them are a lot more fun to be around than are those evil pricks like Santorum who call themselves “Christians.”)

I ask these questions because environmentalism isn’t about “serving” the Earth. It’s about saving it. Not “serving” it, but conserving, preserving it.

Environmentalism isn’t about whether we should put humankind or the planet above one or the other. That’s a false choice fabricated by the science- and planet-hating wingnuts. Environmentalism is about how humankind and the planet (and the rest of the planet’s lifeforms) are so intertwined.

But, if we have to put one above the other, let’s fucking face it: We humankind need the planet, but the planet sure the fuck doesn’t need us. It can do just fine without us, as it did for the billions of years before we human beings arrived on the scene, and if we carry out the insane irresponsibility of Prick Santorum and his ilk far enough, that’s exactly what will happen: The planet will be free of human beings once again, because we human beings will have wiped ourselves out.

The Bible that Santorum — who, while we’re on the topic of serving, clearly serves the Vatican — thumps indeed puts mankind above the Earth and its natural resources, including, of course, all other of its lifeforms. But that Bible was written centuries and centuries ago, and its ignorant authors knew nothing about science. They knew only superstition. Also at that time, the planet’s human population was small enough that indeed it seemed to the human beings of that time that the Earth could take all of the abuse that mankind could dish out.

But now we’re at more than 7 billion human beings, and the planet is showing obvious signs that it can’t take more abuse. The melting North Pole alone demonstrates that fact, and as I’ve found myself having to pop antihistamines significantly early this year because of all of the trees that already are blossoming in Sacramento even though the start of spring is more than a month away, global warming appears to be quite real to me.

Yes, I suppose that it is about “worldview.”

And Prick Santorum’s worldview — in which mankind is the master of the planet and therefore may do to the planet and its resources whatsoever he pleases — is defunct. Worse, it’s a recipe for the extinction of the human race (not to mention the other species that humankind is wiping out right now).

I suppose that Prick Santorum and his “Christo”fascist ilk want their “Armageddon,” and therefore they’ll do everything in their power to bring it about. (“Armageddon” is not pre-ordained, of course, and any such mass extinction of mankind most likely would be caused by mankind’s own stupid actions, not by some divine intervention.)

Those of us who are sane and who therefore are not bound to the scribblings made by ignorant men centuries and centuries ago, but who value facts and science and logic and reason over ignorance and fear and superstition, indeed have a different worldview than does the Neanderthal Prick Santorum (wait — that’s probably an uncalled-for slam against the Neanderthals).

And those of us who do not share Prick Santorum’s Bible-and-Vatican-based worldview do not wish to go down the dark path that he would drag us, kicking and screaming. As the planet gets hotter and hotter, it would be, indeed, an awful lot like hell on Earth.

Herman Cain, the new Moses

Updated below (on Sunday, November 20, 2011)

The scandal engulfing US Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain deepened Thursday

AFP photo

Shhhhh! God is telling him what to do next!

God wanted Herman Cain to run for president, according to Herman Cain, according to The Associated Press, which recently reported:

Atlanta — Republican Herman Cain said God convinced him to enter the race for president, comparing himself to Moses: “‘You’ve got the
wrong man, Lord. Are you sure?'”

The Georgia business executive played up his faith Saturday after battling sexual harassment allegations for two weeks, trying to shift the conversation to religion, an issue vital to conservative Republicans, especially in the South.

In a speech Saturday to a national meeting of young Republicans, Cain said the Lord persuaded him after much prayer.

“That’s when I prayed and prayed and prayed. I’m a man of faith — I had to do a lot of praying for this one, more praying than I’ve ever done before in my life,” Cain said. “And when I finally realized that it was God saying that this is what I needed to do, I was like Moses. ‘You’ve got the wrong man, Lord. Are you sure?'”

Once he made the decision, Cain said, he did not look back. …

Because he would have turned into a pillar of salt, right?

Anyway, this reminds me of an editorial cartoon that I saw recently that tackles the question of what we’re supposed to do when God has two candidates in the same race. I mean, didn’t God tell Michele Bachmann that he want her to be president? According to the AP, Rick Perry’s wife Anita indicated that God gave her the message that her husband should run for president, so that’s at least two horses that Jehovah has in the race, from what I can tell.

If memory serves, the same ‘toon also points out that when the rest of us claim that God talks to us, we are deemed insane, but it’s OK for right-wing Repugnican Tea Party candidates to make such claims.

Not only does Herman Cain have God on his side, but he has his wife on his side. The Associated Press also reports recently:

Washington — Herman Cain’s wife says the claims of sexual harassment against the GOP presidential candidate don’t ring true because he “totally respects women.”

Gloria Cain told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren: “I’m thinking he would have to have a split personality to do the things that were said [he did].” [Um, yeah, that might be it, actually…]

In an interview to be aired Monday during the show “On the Record,” Gloria Cain said she can’t believe the claims he harassed women when he led the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.

“You hear the graphic allegations and we know that would have been something that’s totally disrespectful of her as a woman,” she said. “And I know the type of person he is. He totally respects women.” …

Four women have now accused Herman Cain of sexually harassing them when he led the National Restaurant Association. He has denied wrongdoing and has been trying to move forward in his presidential campaign. …

As Jon Stewart recently pointed out, a man who sexually harasses women at work usually doesn’t share this fact with his wife.

And it’s not like Gloria Cain would have any reason to lie to us, would she? Such as the chance at becoming First Lady?

And, in general, when do you get to use your spouse or other close relative as a character reference?

Oh, and Cain recently blamed Barack Obama for having ended NASA’s space shuttle program, even though it was George W. Bush who in 2004 decided to end the program. Like we can afford NASA anyway. (Let them eat space shuttle wreckage!)

Rachel Maddow’s theory that the Cain campaign is one big practical joke (maybe Ashton Kutcher secretly is Cain’s campaign manager) seems likelier and likelier with each passing news day.

P.S. I have to share this item, which I saw on Joe. My. God.:

Update (Sunday, November 20, 2011): Here is the editorial cartoon that I mentioned above:

Repugnican Tea Party’s recipe for hell on earth: More babies, more warming

Vice President Joe Biden is under attack again from the Repugnican Tea Party traitors, this time for apparently having voiced his support of China’s one-child policy.

What would the Repugnican Tea Party traitors do without Joe Biden? Biden is known for saying impolitical things, and while former veep Dick Cheney should be executed for his war crimes and his crimes against humanity (as should George W. Bush, Condoleezza Rice, et. al.), the “tea party” traitors’ bullshit line is the President Barack Obama (somehow) is responsible for everything that Biden says and does.

What I take Biden’s reported statement to mean is that he’s understands that China’s government decided to limit the nation’s population growth. However, China allegedly has “coercive birth limitation policies, including forced abortion and sterilization,” which Biden opposes, according to a statement issued by Biden’s office.

Of course, the Repugnican Tea Party traitors have been all over this, insinuating that Biden endorses everything that the Chinese government does. Reports Yahoo! News:

“China’s one-child policy is gruesome and barbaric,” former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a 2012 contender, said Tuesday in a statement. “Instead of condoning the policy, Vice President Biden should have condemned it in the strongest possible terms. There can be no defense of a government that engages in compulsory sterilization and forced abortions in the name of population control.”

“China’s one-child policy has led to the great human tragedy of forced abortions throughout China, and Vice President Biden’s refusal to ‘second-guess’ this horrendous policy demonstrates great moral indifference on the part of the Obama Administration,” presidential candidate Rick Perry, governor of Texas, said in a statement Tuesday. “Americans value life, and we deserve leaders who will stand up against such inhumanity, not cast a blind eye.”

So Joe Biden is a baby killer, you see, and by extension, so is Barack Obama.

Of course, as the American empire continues to collapse, with talk of Social Security and Medicare being wiped out because there are too many Americans to take care of, now would be a great time for the United States of America to seriously begin to consider reining in its own population growth.

Do I advocate forced sterilization or forced abortions? Of course not. And neither does Joe Biden (or Barack Obama or anyone else within the Democratic Party high command), which fucking liars Mitt Romney and Rick Perry — who call themselves “Christians” despite their blatant fucking lies — both fucking know.

Of course, Perry and Romney and their ilk are just pandering to the mouth-breathers’ belief that it’s a swell idea to keep popping out the puppies, whether we are taking care of these puppies or not, and are putting out there the blatant lie that if re-elected, Barack Obama will initiate forced abortions and forced sterilizations! And the Repugnican Tea Party’s base of ignorant, fearful fucktards will believe it — after all, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry said it!

What would be responsible public policy, however, would be for the government to pay for voluntary sterilization. After all, it would be much less expensive for all of us taxpayers to pay for one sterilization procedure than to have to pay for another human being (public school expenses, health care expenses, infrastructure expenses due to population growth, Social Security, etc.).

However, the key is voluntary. Nothing forced.

A sane, responsible population of people that isn’t incredibly stupidly hell-bent on its own fucking destruction keeps itself in check, under control.

Not only is our economy collapsing, due mostly to the plutocrats’ treasonous greed, of course — we have plenty of wealth in the United States; it’s that our wealth has been stolen from us since the Reagan years through a thousand cuts and has been concentrated in the treasonous hands of the plutocratic few, who enjoy the protection of the treasonous Repugnican Tea Party — but let’s face it, the more individuals we have using our resources, the faster our resources are depleted, and the planet suffers, too, such as with increased global warming from the increased use of fossil fuels from the increase in the number of consumers of fossil fuels.

Of course, Romney and Perry and their ilk not only want Americans to keep popping out babies that we can’t take of, but they “don’t believe” in global warming, as though global warming weren’t science — which it is — but were something like the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. Reports The Associated Press:

Bedford, N.H. — GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry told New Hampshire voters [last week] that he does not believe in manmade global warming, calling it a scientific theory that has not been proven.

“I think we’re seeing almost weekly, or even daily, scientists that are coming forward and questioning the original idea that manmade global warming is what is causing the climate to change,” the Texas governor said on the first stop of a two-day trip to the first-in-the-nation primary state.

He said some want billions or trillions of taxpayer dollars spent to address the issue, but he added: “I don’t think from my perspective that I want to be engaged in spending that much money on still a scientific theory that has not been proven and from my perspective is more and more being put into question.” …

It’s entirely untrue that global warming is just a theory that the world’s scientists aren’t agreed upon. There is virtually universal agreement among the world’s scientists that global warming is very real and is a serious problem.*

It’s that Rick Perry is the governor of Texas, Big Oil’s No. 1 state, and his campaign contributors, and his party’s campaign contributors, give Perry and his ilk an awful lot of money not to “believe” in global warming. The science, you see, as Al Gore put it, is inconvenient to those who profit obscenely, at our long-term expense, from continuing to destroy the planet via the use of fossil fuels — just as, as Gore also pointed out, the discovery that tobacco causes cancer sure rained on Big Tobacco’s parade of profiteering. (And, as Gore also pointed out, Big Tobacco tried to lie about the science about the harmful and even lethal effects of its products for as long as it could, just as Big Oil is doing now.)

Now, the whole Texas secession thing aside, I view taking money from Big Oil in order to allow Big Oil to continue to harm us, the people, to amount to treason. A public servant is supposed to serve the people, not harm the people for selfish personal gain. Yet here is traitor Perry calling others traitors. That’s typical of the hypocrisy of the right wing, though, of course.

Not to be outdone by Perry, a week after Perry announced that he “doesn’t believe” in global warming, Romney pretty much did the same thing, saying, also in New Hampshire, “Do I think the world’s getting hotter? Yeah, I don’t know that but I think that it is. I don’t know if it’s mostly caused by humans. What I’m not willing to do is spend trillions of dollars on something I don’t know the answer to.”

Of course, the problem isn’t really the spending of trillions of dollars — after all, we blow that much money on bogus wars for the war profiteers. The problem is not allowing Big Oil to continue to profiteer from our demise because of our planet’s demise. Big Oil doesn’t want its big profits jeopardized, and its cronies within the treasonous Repugnican Tea Party care more about Big Oil’s continued obscene profits than they care about the welfare of the rest of us or our planet.

Only one of the Repugnican contenders, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the 2012 Repugnican Tea Party presidential nomination because he is the sanest of the bunch of contenders, recently declared, “To be clear: I believe in evolution and trust scientists on global warming. Call me crazy.”** Oh, those of his ill-chosen party do.

But while one is entitled to his or her opinions, one is not entitled to his or her facts — whether one falsely claims that global warming is not a reality or falsely claims that Joe Biden (and other Dems) support forced abortions and/or forced sterilizations.

And the claim of the majority of the Repugnican Tea Party traitors that reality indeed is whatever they deem reality to be — all of that inconvenient science be damned — is the dictionary definition of the word “insanity,” which is a break from reality.

And the insanity of the likes of Mitt Romney and Rick Perry isn’t just their cute quirkiness. Their insanity threatens all of us and the entire planet, because in the most powerful political office of the United States of America, their insanity would be gargantuanly amplified.

A responsible leader leads us where we need to go, even if many or even most of us are are not thrilled about having to make the journey.

We need to keep our population in check. We clearly can’t take care of those who already are here in the United States, so why contribute to our national misery by popping out even more puppies?

We sure love our fossil fuels, but they’re killing us, as surely as a person with terminal lung cancer who still loves his or her cigarettes is only hastening his or her own demise.

Perry, Romney & Co. claim to care about life, but short-sighted policies that in the long run threaten all life on the planet aren’t what I’d call pro-life.

To support policies that guarantee continued runaway profiteering and personal political gain in the short term but that cause long-term damage to the nation and to the world isn’t just short-sighted, irresponsible and insane. It’s treasonous.

Based upon just the two critically important issues of population control and global warming alone, the choice for president in November 2012 should be pretty fucking crystal clear to those of us who are not absofuckinglutely insane.

*The Associated Press notes that “Perry’s opinion runs counter to the view held by an overwhelming majority of scientists that pollution released from the burning of fossil fuels is heating up the planet. Perry’s home state of Texas releases more heat-trapping pollution carbon dioxide — the chief greenhouse gas — than any other state in the country, according to government data.” (Emphasis mine.)

**Huntsman also recently stated: “The minute that the Republican Party becomes the … anti-science party, we have a huge problem…. When we take a position that isn’t willing to embrace evolution, when we take a position that basically runs counter to what 98 or 100 climate scientists have said … I think we find ourselves on the wrong side of science and, therefore, in a losing position.”

The only thing there I disagree with is that the Repugnican Tea Paty already is the anti-science party. It isn’t becoming the anti-science party.

Carly should have her head examined

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina gestures during a ...

Associated Press photo

Rich Repugnican Carly Fiorina, who although she never has held elected public office wants to be a U.S. senator for California, is doing nothing to challenge the perception that California is the land of fruits and nuts. Crazy Carly — who recently released a beyond-bizarre, National-Organization-for-Marriage-like attack ad on her Repugnican primary opponent — is shown above in a photo from last month and is shown below shilling for fellow Repugnican John McCainosaurus in 2008. Just like Sarah Palin-Quayle does, Crazy Carly opposes a woman’s right to decide what to do with her own uterus and she opposes equal human and civil rights for non-heterosexuals, but she expects women to vote for her anyway.

Associated Press photo

Repugnican Carly Fiorina, whom the board of Hewlett-Packard forced to resign in 2005 and who was John McCainosaurus’ top economic adviser when he ran for the White House with Sarah Palin-Quayle and who has been listed among the top 20 worst American CEOs of all time, reportedly has beaten breast cancer, but I suspect that the cancer has metastasized to her brain. In fact, her brain might be more tumorous matter than healthy gray matter.

That would explain her incrediblyreally, it’s unfuckingbelievable — bizarre and incredibly bad attack ad against her Repugnican primary opponent Tom Campbell.

I’d thought that they were exaggerating, but then I watched the ad, which truly must be seen to be believed:

I think it’s fairly safe to say that with what has been dubbed her “demon sheep ad” — yes, the ad contains images of an evil sheep with red glowing eyes that is a bit reminiscent of “The Amityville Horror’s” Jodie the Pig:

An actor in a sheep costume with "demon eyes" is seen ...

Reuters video grab

 — Carly Fiorina already has lost her bid to unseat U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer.

If Crazy Carly actually manages to make it out of the Repugnican primary alive — by pumping millions of her own dollars into her campaign, just as her Repugnican-former-CEO-who-never-has-held-any-elected-public-office-before cohort Megalomaniac Whitman is trying to buy the governorship of California with her own personal fortune — then she’ll die at the ballot box in November 2010.

Nutmeg Whitman and Crazy Carly Fiorina think that the voters of California are fucking stupid. OK, so true, they did elect Repugnican Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Repugnican-orchestrated gubernatorial recall election of 2003. But even the dullest of Californians now see what a huge fucking mistake that was, and just as California’s women voters weren’t stupid enough to vote for Repugnican John McCainosaurus because Sarah Palin-Quayle was on the ticket, they’re not going to vote for Whitman or Fiorina just because they (presumably) possess the XX chromosomes.

Nor, I believe, are cash-strapped Californians going to take too well to two corporate bizillionaires trying to buy office — and a U.S. Senate seat and the governorship of the nation’s most populous nation, no less — when they never have held public office before, not even city council member.

P.S. Crazy Carly’s campaign’s “FCINO” as “fiscal conservative in name only”?

Um, what creative genius thought that up?

You can say “RINO” (Repugnican in name only) like “rhino,” or “DINO” (Democrat in name only) like “dino” (as in short for “dinosaur”), but “FCINO”?

WTF?

Memo to Miss Fake Tits: Your ‘truth’ oppresses me and millions of others

Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean, smiles during a news conference ...

Reuters photo

The devil has breast implants: Former Miss California Carrie Prejean, pictured in May, believes that God chose her to be a poster bitch for homophobia. She probably believes that God wanted her to get her breast implants, too.

Carrie Prejean won’t shut the fuck up.

And why should she? Stupid people never do, while intelligent people keep silent.

Prejean now claims that God chose her to deliver her anti-same-sex-marriage answer during the 2009 Miss USA pageant. Didn’t the election-stealing, mass-murdering “President” George W. Bush also claim that God told him what to do?

We live in dangerous times when wingnuts like Bush and Prejean claim that God wants them to oppress others. All kinds of crimes, including mass murder, have been done in the names of God and Jesus by so-called “Christians” throughout history.

“I was a woman who stood up for the truth and people don’t want to admit that,” Prejean boasted yesterday at the Values Voters Summit in Washington (yes, the very same Values Voters Summit that sold “Obama Waffles” last year in which Barack Obama was portrayed like Aunt Jemima on boxes of waffle mix). “I had the courage and the bravery that a lot of people don’t have.”

Oh, yeah, it takes a whole shitload of courage and bravery to hate and to beat up upon a minority group that historically has been oppressed, even by the Nazis during the Holocaust. And it’s exactly what Jesus would do, too.

Memo to Carrie Fake Tits Prejean: I don’t give a fuck what insanity you believe. Believe that man came from dirt and that woman came from man’s rib. Believe in virgin births and believe in the coming apocalypse in which you’ll be saved because you’ve hated all the people you’ve been told to hate.

But your right to believe your insanity ends where my equal human and civil rights begin.

If you oppose same-sex marriage, then don’t marry another woman. But don’t tell me what I may and may not do based upon your dipshit, backasswards, oppressive beliefs that are much more satanic than they are Christian — that is, based upon the actual teachings of Jesus Christ as contained in black and white in the New Testament. (You know, love thy brother as thyself, do unto others only as you would have others do unto you, judge not lest ye be judged, etc., etc.)

If any entity actually is acting and talking through you, Miss Fake Tits, it sure the fuck ain’t God.
