The House Repugnicans are fucked even before they’re out of the fucking gate

Getty Images news photo

This is the new face of the Repugnican Party. There will be nothing to fear for the next two years, because these people are way too fucktarded not only to govern adequately, but even to play politics effectively.

News stories like these abound lately:

Repugnican U.S. Rep.-elect George Santos, among his many, many other lies, apparently claimed that his mother, who died in 2016, was a victim of 9/11. (She died of cancer, apparently, so if his “argument” is that 9/11 somehow caused the cancer, even though she wasn’t there when it happened, he has acknowledged, then he needs some proof of that; otherwise, it’s just yet another of his endless biographical lies, many of which are just fucking pointless.)

And, delightfully, the White House has refused to respond to demands for information from Repugnican U.S. Reps. Jim Jordan and James Comer because, the White House correctly points out, while these two traitors plan to head certain House committees next year, it’s not next year yet, and so they’re not the heads of those committees yet.

Therefore, their demands for information from the White House were premature, which is not shocking, as we could expect Repugnican-fascists to be premature ejaculators, shooting their loads in a frantic frenzy way before it’s time.

Anyway, Politico reports today:

The Biden White House launched its first major broadside in response to incoming House Republicans likely to spearhead aggressive oversight of the administration.

A top lawyer for the president pledged in letters to those members that the administration would operate in good faith with them. But he also said that oversight demands made by congressional Republicans during the last Congress would have to be started over.

In respective letters to Reps. James Comer (R-Ky) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), White House Special Counsel Richard Sauber said that the Biden administration had no immediate plans to respond to a slew of records requests that both men made the past several weeks.

In those letters, obtained exclusively by POLITICO, Sauber described such requests as constitutionally illegitimate because both Jordan, who is expected to chair the House Judiciary Committee, and Comer, who is expected to head the Oversight Committee, made them before they had any authority to do so.

“Congress has not delegated such [oversight] authority to individual members of Congress who are not committee chairmen, and the House has not done so under its current Rules,” wrote Sauber, one of the White House’s top oversight lawyers. …

This response from the White House is entirely fair and entirely logical.

It’s cute to see what eager beavers the Repugnican-fascists are in trying to take down Joe Biden in advance of the November 2024 presidential election, but they need to put it back into their big-boy pants until it’s an appropriate time — that is, when they actually have the constitutional and legal authority to issue such demands of the White House.

And of course Gym Jordan and James Premature Comer admitted their mistake and backtracked, right?

No, of course fucking not.

Premature Comer issued this Orwellian/fascist statement:

President Biden promised to have the most transparent administration in history but at every turn the Biden White House seeks to obstruct congressional oversight and hide information from the American people. Just before dawn at 4:33 a.m., the White House informed us they will not provide the answers we have been seeking for the American people on important issues such as the border and fentanyl crises, the energy crisis, botched Afghanistan withdrawal, COVID origins, and the Biden family’s influence peddling. Why is the Biden Administration hiding this information? Republicans are undeterred by the Biden Administration’s obstruction and will continue pressing for the answers, transparency, and accountability that the American people deserve.

No mention, conveniently, of the White House’s clearly stated reason for its refusal to comply with these two jackasses’ premature demands for information: The jackasses don’t have the authority on behalf of the House committees to make such demands — because they’re not yet in charge of those committees.

But rather than admit a major political and constitutional mistake, let’s just lie that the case is that the Biden administration just will not cooperate with any investigations, period.

This is how the Repugnicans roll: They. Lie. Even to — probably especially to — their own mouth-breathing supporters.

Speaking of liars, yes, George Santos’ pants aren’t just on fire; they are in nuclear meltdown. (Speaking of Santos, yet another fun fact about him, and a knee-slapper, too: He called Joe Biden “a pathological liar.”)

And, of course, Repugnican House “leadership” is being awfully quiet about Santos, since they need every body on their side of the aisle that they can keep. The Hill reports:

Rep.-elect George Santos (R-N.Y.) has put Republicans in a pickle: How do party leaders deal with his fabrications and misrepresentations without jeopardizing their slim majority or setting a precedent?

The answer so far, for the most part, is to say nothing and let Santos speak for himself — and perhaps to let voters decide Santos’ fate in 2024.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman Tom Emmer (Minn.) and House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (N.Y.) have not commented on the revelations surrounding Santos’s background and falsehoods.

The reality is that a slim incoming majority of 222 GOP seats to 212 Democratic seats and one vacancy leaves Republicans little political incentive to come down hard on Santos, as they might need his vote to pass their priorities.

And McCarthy, who is facing opposition from a handful of hard-line House Republicans threatening to sink his Speaker bid, may need Santos’ vote to secure the Speakership on Jan. 3. Santos expressed support for McCarthy for Speaker in a tweet last week that has since been deleted.

McCarthy did not answer questions about Santos in the Capitol last week, and House GOP leaders did not respond to or comment on Santos on Wednesday. …

So there you have it: The House Repugnicans are imploding even before they’ve officially taken over the chamber.

And to the extent that George Santos is a fucking pathological liar on crack — Hey, he was just following former “President” Pussygrabber’s perfidious example, was he not? — the Repugnicans are incredibly fucking tone deaf: The American voters just last month soundly rejected the Repugnicans’ agenda of cray-cray, lies, meanness and chaos, yet already the Repugs have teed up two more years of exactly the same old shit that we, the voters, just fucking told them that we fucking hate.

If the Repugnicans actually manage to keep the House in their control for the next two full years, they’ll definitely lose it come January 2025.

Good riddance to Princess Kyrsten; she never was a Democrat anyway

Princess Kyrsten Sinema, clad in a schoolgirl’s uniform on the U.S. Senate floor, literally gave a thumbs down to raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour in March 2021. To add insult to injury to the poor and the working class, she also fucking curtsied like a fucking schoolgirl. (The current federal minimum wage, by the way, is a whopping $7.25 an hour, which is just one notch above slavery.) The Democrat in name only finally has made it official and now is calling herself an “independent,” but we still can — and must — get rid of her sorry ass when she is up for re-election in November 2024.

Back in January, I wrote:

… [U.S. Sen. Kyrsten] Sinema is causing grave damage to the well-being of the United States of America, and so far more important than psychoanalyzing her is removing her, as soon as is possible, from the position of power that she has done nothing but abuse.

So it is gratifying to see that yesterday, the Democratic Party of Arizona finally censured the bitch for refusing to support her own fucking party.

The censure has no immediate practical effect, many news stories have noted.

That’s true in that of course no state’s party organization can remove a sitting elected official, but if your own state party has censured you, be you Repugnican or Democrat, you might have a problem with your next re-election effort.

On that note, what the fuck is Sinema’s long game?

She’s up for re-election in just two years, and only 8 percent of Arizona Democrats approve of the job she’s doing. I don’t see the Arizona Democratic Party supporting Sinema’s re-election, and no, if Sinema went ahead already and officially became the Repugnican that she already is, the Repugnican voters of Arizona won’t vote for former “Democrat” who says she’s bisexual (she’s so cutting edge!) and who, inexplicably, was affiliated with Arizona’s Green Party before she “became” a “Democrat” in 2004.

I don’t see Sinema getting a second term, and you can help make sure that she is relegated to the dustbin of U.S. history, where she belongs. …

Sinema, a self-serving swine, has announced that she’s no longer a Democrat, but now is an “independent.”

This should come as no surprise to anyone who has been following her “career” in the Senate. As I wrote back in January, she’d lost the support of the Arizona Democratic Party, yet the Repugnicans of Arizona never would accept her as one of their own.

Seeing this political reality — she knew that she wouldn’t make it out of the 2024 Democratic primary alive — but still wanting to hold on to power, Sinema decided to become an “independent.”

We still can get rid of Sinema in 2024, however. The Arizona Democrats hate her, and so in 2024 they’ll vote for whomever the Democratic candidate for her Senate seat is — thus far I’m supporting Democratic Arizona U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego to replace her, as I have for some time.

Now that Sinema is calling herself an “independent,” my guess is that Gallego’s path to the 2024 Democratic nomination for the Senate seat that she now occupies only for our corporate overlords is fairly clear.

The latest voter registration statistics for Arizona that I can find on the state’s secretary of state’s website are 34.7 percent Repugnican, 30.7 percent Democrat, 33.9 percent “other” (which I assume includes independents), and 0.8 percent Libertarian.

Yes, in Arizona the registered Repugnicans outnumber the registered Democrats by about 4 percentage points, but a Democrat who can win over the independent voters — as U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly and Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs (and Arizona Secretary of State-elect Adrian Fontes) just did in last month’s midterm elections — can overcome the Repugnicans’ relatively small voter registration advantage in the state.

Especially if the Repugnicans keep voting for far-right kooks like Blake Masters and Scary Lake (and Mark Finchem) in their primaries — and I doubt that these troglodytic fucktards will change their game, only other than to double down on it they’re going to continue to lose statewide elections in Arizona (such as how former “President” Pussygrabber lost Arizona to Joe Biden in November 2020).

In Arizona, an influx of new residents from kinder, saner states is diluting the mean-spirited and cray-cray native Repugnican vote in the historically backasswards state, especially in the most populous county, Maricopa County, and in the next-most-populous county, Pima County. This demographic shift probably is the No. 1 reason that Katie Hobbs beat she-Nazi Scary Lake for the governorship last month.

Again, the Democrats in Arizona are through with Sinema, and the Repugnicans there won’t accept her because for so many years she called herself a “Democrat.” And the chances that the mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging Arizona Repugnicans will front yet another awful candidate to oppose “independent” Sinema and her Democratic opponent for the U.S. Senate seat in 2024 are high.

This is the new political reality in Arizona — and come January 2025, we probably will be able to say “Senator Gallego.”

In the meantime, had Sinema switched to the Repugnican Party — which, again, she wouldn’t have done because the Arizona Repugnicans don’t support her, and there’s no way that she could have won another term in 2024 running as a Repugnican (she wouldn’t even have survived the Repugnican primary) — that would have changed the calculus in the Senate for the next two years to 50 Democratic seats and 50 Repugnican seats, still leaving the Democrats in control.

From what I can tell, the newly “independent” Sinema plans to more or less caucus with the Democrats, which will keep the Senate at 51-49, but we’ll see. She’s unstable (bipolar?) and apparently frequently switches teams, politically and sexually, as it suits her mood and her power-grubbing of the moment.

That said, she’s never been a real Democrat anyway, so it doesn’t much matter what the fuck she does in the next two years.

While Princess Sinema is doing whatever she’s going to do in 2023 and 2024, our job is to replace her with an actual Democrat in November 2024.

P.S. I’ve seen expressed the opinion that if Princess Sinema runs as an “independent,” she’ll siphon more votes from the Democratic candidate than from the Repugnican candidate in November 2024.

I disagree.

Sinema has few friends or fans in Arizona, and since she’s basically a Repugnican anyway, I see her drawing more votes from the Repugnican candidate than from the Democratic candidate. This would, I surmise, mean that the Democrat would win the plurality if not the majority of the vote (it very most likely would be a plurality).

Some have opined about the Democrats caving in to Sinema and not running a candidate at all, but supporting her bid as an “independent,” fearful that if they don’t support Sinema, then the Repugnican might win.

I disagree with this cowardly take vehemently.

The most likely scenario, I believe, is that the Democrat wins a plurality of the vote, and then we’re done with Sinema and her juvenile, narcissistic and corrupt bullshit.

She can get a gig — and probably will get a gig — with one of her corporate sugar daddies, whom she’s always loved far more than the people she is supposed to represent.

South Carolina shouldn’t go first — and who should get the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination

Associated Press photo

U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, even though actually elected by only one congressional district in a deep-red, backasswards state, pretty much runs the whole fucking show — because Joe Biden is his little bitch.

The members of the Democratic National Committee hadn’t at all planned to have South Carolina hold its presidential primary election first in 2024, but after President Joe Biden corruptly chimed in that he wanted South Carolina to go first — because South Carolina was the first state that he managed to actually win in 2020 after he’d miserably lost the first three states — the members of the DNC promptly folded and gave him what he wanted. (Because if you might have a stake in the game, you should make the rules! That’s not corrupt at all!)

The last time that a Democratic candidate for president won South Carolina was Jimmy Fucking Carter in 1976; both of the state’s U.S. senators are Repugnicans; and six of its seven members of the U.S. House of Representatives are Repugnicans, the only Democrat being the 82-year-old fossil Jim Clyburn, the asshole who has his hand up Biden’s ass like a meat puppet and who refuses to step the fuck aside (and why should he? He essentially is the president of the United State of America, via Biden).

South Carolina is a backasswards state whose heart still is with the fucking Confederacy, but let’s elevate it to No. 1! The Democrats making South Carolina first is like the Repugnicans making California first.

This is yet another reason why I’m progressive — I’m a die-hard Berniecrat — but have serious issues with the Democratic Party, which remains in the grip of the corporate-friendly centrist assholes who have no problem gaming the system for themselves — democracy, fairness and decency be damned.

(Yes, Bernie Sanders was fucked over for the Democratic presidential nomination not once, but twice. Its speaks volumes about the Democratic establishment [corporate whores all] that the people’s choice for president must be stopped at all costs.)

Of course, if Biden runs for re-election, very most likely no viable Democrat would dare to run against him, even though his approval rating remains mired in the low 40s.

That Biden self-servingly and corruptly inserted himself into the creation of the 2024 primary-contest calendar to put South Carolina — the backasswards state that loves him (well, the minority of the state, that is) — first on the calendar makes me suspect that he plans to run for re-election, or at least wants to feather his nest in case he does decide to run for re-election and a viable Democrat actually dares to run against him. Of course, it’s also possible that he was just trying to give his puppet master Jim Clyburn yet another gift on his way out, but I think that he’ll most likely run again.

If Biden runs again, it’s going to be an incredibly boring primary-contest season; it’s going to be dispiriting, to say the least, to see this corrupt, old-school codger running again, most likely with no viable candidate having the gonads to run against him.

If Biden doesn’t run again, it will be messy, but it won’t be boring.

Here are the top-10 Democrats who The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake posits are the most likely to win the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination, in this order, from one to 10: Joe Biden; Pete Buttigieg; Kamala Harris; Jared Polis; Amy Klobuchar; Gavin Newsom; Bernie Sanders; Gretchen Whitmer; Josh Shapiro; J.B. Pritzker.

I think that Blake largely has his head up his ass.

I don’t see Buttigieg, a slippery weasel, getting the Democratic presidential nomination any year soon. As a gay white man I am not going to engage in identity politics and blindly support the candidate who shares some of my demographics. Buttigieg is a centrist corporate whore who’s only out for his own ambitions.

Thankfully, I think that most American voters don’t like the boy wonder, and his resume is thin: a former small-town mayor whom Biden gave a Cabinet post only because Buttigieg helped to torpedo Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign and to resurrect the moribund Biden campaign from the dead in 2020. (I still think that Biden and Buttigieg made a deal that if Buttigieg dropped out of the 2020 presidential race and endorsed him, Biden would give him a Cabinet post or other high post. Again, not that that’s corrupt or anything…)

Kamala Harris’ approval rating is even worse than Biden’s. Perhaps especially if former “President” Pussygrabber is the 2024 Repugnican presidential candidate, making the politically inept and utterly uncharismatic Harris his opponent would be a huge, huge mistake.

That said, the Democratic Party is still “woke,” and I expect any opposition to Harris, should she seek to succeed Biden, to immediately be branded as “racist” and “sexist,” which, of course, is just a form of “woke” thuggery.

Jared Polis, the governor of Colorado, I don’t know enough about to make a judgment. I don’t know that he’d want to leave the governorship for which he just won a second term, but should Biden not run — and Bernie Sanders not run — and Polis should run, I’d give him consideration. It would be fine to have our first gay president, but he has to check the main box for me: being progressive (that is, being an actual Democrat).

Amy Klobuchar: Just: No. We’re long overdue for our first woman president, but it won’t be the annoying, cloying, accomplishment-free Klobuchar.

Gavin Newsom for me is a maybe if both Biden and Bernie don’t run in 2024. (Newsom already has said that he won’t run in 2024 if Biden runs again.)

I lived in California from 1998 to just earlier this year, and I think that Gov. Newsom probably would make a decent president. I’m not sure that he could overcome the mostly bullshit stigma of being from California, but as more Americans choose to live in California than in any other state (it’s no contest), I think that it’s appropriate that the U.S. president should hail from the state with the most Americans. (That’s called democracy…)

That said, Newsom is used to California politics, which are quite different from national politics, and I don’t know how well he’d make the transition from the Golden-State stage to the national stage. Nonetheless, I see him probably running for president in the future, if it’s not in 2024.

Of course I’d support Bernie Sanders should he run again (he has said that he wouldn’t oppose Biden if Biden runs again) — he’d be my No. 1 choice, hands down — as long as he still has his wits about him, and today he still does, much more so than does the frequently addled Biden.

Maybe the third time running for president would be the charm for Bernie, but of course I’d fully expect the craven Democratic establishment to, for a third time, do its best to destroy Bernie’s campaign, regardless of his popular following. That’s just how the anti-democratic “Democratic” assholes roll.

I’d consider Gretchen Whitmer should Biden and Bernie not run. She always has struck me as a good person governing in a state with a lot of mouth-breathers (including those who plotted to kidnap her), and I’d much rather have her as our first female president than any of the other women whom Blake put in his little top-10 list.

Josh Shapiro was just elected as governor of Pennsylvania, and I don’t see him leaving his new gig so soon to run for the presidency. I like him, though, and could see myself voting for him for president in the future.

J.B. Pritzker I know little to nothing about, and that’s true for the vast majority of Americans, I think, and if you want to be U.S. president, people need to know who the fuck you are, so I’m baffled as to why Pritzker comes in at even No. 10.

If I were to order the 10 people whom Blake put on his top-10 list — again, this is the top-10 list of those most likely to be the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee — I would do it like this:

  1. Joe Biden (because I think he mostly likely will run for re-election; breaking with long previous American tradition, most of those of his age selfishly refuse to step aside and let a younger generation come into power)
  2. Gavin Newsom (his relative youth and his willingness to actually fight, rare for most Democrats, would appeal to the Democratic voters, I think)
  3. Bernie Sanders (I think that his age would be seen as a liability, but he still has a strong following; I’d prefer a younger candidate, but a candidate’s level of progressivism is much more important to me than is his or her age)
  4. Gretchen Whitmer (she’s likable, she’s effective, and she would bring new blood to D.C.)
  5. Pete Buttigieg (only because he’s a ladder-climbing, back-stabbing schemer who might do better this time than he did last time)
  6. Kamala Harris (only on the strength of having been vice president, and “wokeness” could propel her to the nomination, even though she’d be disastrous)
  7. Amy Klobuchar (again, like Harris, she has zero charisma and no notable achievements, but she does have name recognition)
  8. Jared Polis (the voters don’t know him well enough, I don’t think)
  9. Josh Shapiro (again, I don’t see him running for president so soon, though, and I don’t think the voters know him well enough yet)
  10. J.B. “Who?” Pritzker (again: Who?)

Again, though, it would be incredibly dispiriting and depressing if the 2024 presidential nominees were Biden and Pussygrabber again.

I would fucking hope that the United States of America can/could do much better than that.

P.S. As much as I think that it’s utter bullshit that a former Confederate and a dark-red state should be the first state to vote in the Democratic Party presidential-primary contest season, I am quite happy to see Iowa taken out of the early-voting states, as Iowa thoroughly botched both of their 2016 and 2020 caucuses, and even if Iowa hadn’t fucked up majorly twice in a row, caucuses — which are obsolete, exclusive and ripe for corruption — need to be scrapped everywhere and replaced with straightforward primary elections.

I am happy to live in a state that will vote early in 2024 — Nevada — and I’m happy that Nevada scrapped its caucuses for a presidential primary election; the 2024 presidential primary election will be the first presidential primary election in Nevada.

Nevada is slated to vote three days after South Carolina in 2024, with South Carolina voting on February 3 (a Saturday) and Nevada on Tuesday, February 6, along with New Hampshire, which has vowed to hold its primary earlier, even if it is stripped of delegates to the 2024 Democratic National Convention because it violated the DNC’s approved calendar. Iowa also has threatened to violate the DNC-sanctioned calendar and to hold its bullshit caucuses earlier anyway.

Fuck Iowa and fuck New Hampshire. They’ve had their day and they’ve had their say.
