“President” Pussygrabber loves him some wage-slave capitalism.
I intentionally did not listen to or watch “President” Pussygrabber’s little speech last night.
At this point, what’s the point? Pussygrabber is beyond irrelevant and boring. It’s just a waiting game until he no longer occupies the Oval Office.
(That and every other thing that Pussygrabber emits from the hole in his face is a fucking lie, and I can’t stand listening to his awful, affected, talentless speech-giving voice, with its awkward, apparently random lilts that only he could think sound presidential.)
That said, what Pussygrabber said last night about socialism caught my eye in today’s news reportage. He said this:
… Two weeks ago, the United States officially recognized the legitimate government of Venezuela, and its new interim president, Juan Guaido. [I wholly disagree that right-wingers Juan Guaido & Co. are “the legitimate government of Venezuela” — they’re just right-wing opportunists taking advantage of Venezuela’s unfortunate crises — but that’s another piece.*]
We stand with the Venezuelan people in their noble quest for freedom — and we condemn the brutality of the Maduro regime, whose socialist policies have turned that nation from being the wealthiest in South America into a state of abject poverty and despair.
Here, in the United States, we are alarmed by new calls to adopt socialism in our country.
America was founded on liberty and independence — not government coercion, domination and control.
We are born free, and we will stay free.
Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country. …
Google “definition of socialism” and you’ll get this: “a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.”
You won’t see pathological liar Pussygrabber’s false definition of “government coercion, domination and control.”
This is a common tactic of the fascists, though: they blatantly lie through their fangs about what something means, giving it a false, evil definition, and then proclaim that they oppose it — and that they stand for all that is just and good.
Actually, I would say that “social organization [that] advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole” sounds pretty fucking democratic, not despotic.**
But, of course, that’s exactly what capitalist mobster Pussygrabber and his ilk fear most: democratic control of the United States of America rather than control by greedy, self-interested, sociopathic capitalist mobsters.
“Socialism” does not mean authoritarianism or totalitarianism or dictatorship or anything like that. Socialism means that everyone matters and that everyone gets a voice. Again, there is a word for that: democracy.
On that note, I — and millions of others — advocate democratic socialism. We shouldn’t have to qualify “socialism” with “democratic,” but we have to because the right so often conflates socialism with Communism, that is, with a tyrannical, authoritarian, totalitarian government.
Nor can we allow the likes of Pussygrabber to define “freedom,” which in the United States of America apparently is the freedom to be exploited by millionaires and billionaires, the freedom to just try to live on subsistence wages with an ever-shrinking social safety net. (Socialism is only for corporations and for plutocrats, you see, not for us commoners.)
In 1984, George Orwell famously wrote, one of the the oppressive, oligarchic government’s slogans is “freedom is slavery.”
Democratic socialism — a system decided upon by the majority of the people — offers freedom, whereas Pussygrabber and his ilk deem wage slavery in a system that insanely allows a few to become filthy rich while the masses struggle to survive to be “freedom.” (Worse, many of the struggling masses actually buy that fucking propaganda.)
But more and more of the masses are waking up and realizing that no, it doesn’t have to be this way. As the old fucks who treasonously have benefited from capitalism — shamelessly screwing over the rest of us and destroying the planet in their bottomless greed — continue to die off, democratic socialism will take root; the bloated, putrefying corpses of the baby boomers will push up beautiful daisies.
*What apparently has happened in Venezuela is not democratic socialism, but apparently autocracy and gross economic mismanagement — which you’d also get under a right-wing government, as Pussygrabber and his right-wing buddies want to install in Venezuela again.
Communism as practiced in Russia and in China also wasn’t democratic socialism, obviously.
**Note that the definition of socialism says that “the means of production, distribution and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.”
Common ownership scares the hell out of Americans, who have been fed on self-interest and greed, but I don’t necessarily advocate for common ownership.
Meaningful regulation of capitalism would be a great fucking start, and in the end I most likely would advocate a mixed economic system, in which the necessities — food, shelter, medical care, education, etc. — are made available to all, and the luxuries remain in the hands of well-regulated capitalists.
